To the most wonderful person I have ever met.
He doesn’t know how bright his spark shines; how warm his smile glows.
Unaware of everyone’s excitement as he enters the room and anticipation when he opens his mouth – eternally bound for insightful wisdom or a perfectly placed joke.
In every sense of being, his sole existence brightens the lives of everyone I’ve known to have met him.
Yet, he knows not of his heart –
or at least not completely.
How truly big it is.
How it’s extends beyond the reach of a widely stretched embrace,
Further than what the words of a perfectly scribed poem can encapsulate.
It exudes purely unassuming, unfiltered, unconditional love.
The more I learned about him, the more questions I couldn’t fathom the answer to.
How a person can grace themselves with so much discipline and hold the paramount quality and quantity of respect for every individual he ever meets.
How he balances the weight of worlds on his shoulders while maintaining the footing of a featherweight boxer.
How he leaves room to breathe in every conversation, yet can always share insight and opinion with humility and honesty.
In the time I’ve known him, it’s has always been my pleasure to share his company –
my honour.
Movie nights, football games, bus rides, lunch times, beach days, sleepovers, picnic afternoons that turn into all-nighters.
Truly a gift.
One I cannot repay, yet, must not forget.
I call you the most wonderful person for two reasons. The first being the wonder evoked within everyone the meets you, as if to corroborate that people know they have stumbled upon something special.
The second because I remember someone saying you have a wide-eyed curiosity about you – you are literally full of wonder as you explore the world.
From the moment I got to know you, I’ve always seen you as an adventurer.
Never shy to a challenge.
Never scared of adversity
Humble in success
And pure in priority.
I can’t say I have ever met or will ever meet someone like you.
I never experienced the cliche “I wish you seen yourself through my eyes” until now that I have met someone that doesn’t realise the smallest fragment of their beauty.
In mind, in heart, in soul –
You are the most wonderful person I have ever met.
